The beaches are nice and easy to access. The wharf is a nice place to shop and eat. If you visit in the fall be sure to bring layers of clothes because it CA be chilly in the morning and evening. Shadow brook restaurant is a great place to eat. The food is delicious and the staff members are great and attentive.

I couldn’t say I would change anything in this beautiful well maintained hotel. The staff was great. The breakfast was wonderful an all the amenities were as described. I’ve stayed here a few times and was only disappointed in the higher prices and the mixup in giving our keys to other guests by mistake, and on the 2nd day of our 3 day stay, our keys were all deactivated. Thanks for the “ I’m sorry” goody bags! I would appreciate a free nite on a future stay

Great location, elevator not working, room #1 with no view, very stuffy, no designated parking space, very noisy. We were Basically told you get what you paid for. Hard to find parking even though they give you a hang tag permit, there's time limits.

Lovely seaside ‘village’ vibe.
Lovely seaside ‘village’ vibe. Friendly people, beautiful scenery, quaint shops and lots of restaurants. My favorite always is Shadowbrook Restaurant and I like to stay at the Capitola Hotel whenever I can! Great area for wandering through shops and along the sea.

Capitola has a friendly and inclusive vibe.
Capitola has a friendly and inclusive vibe. Lots of families, older folks like us, and younger couples as well. It is charming. Flowers everywhere, interesting cottage type architecture, beautiful ocean views, clean and quiet neighborhoods. Plan to return!
Loved sitting on the balcony of Margaritaville: excellent food, superb views, and friendly and efficient staff.
Recommend visiting Gayles, a world-class bakery, deli, and coffee shop. Short walk up the hill.
Worth it to walk down the pier and watch the larger sea creatures.
Check out the flip-flop shop “Slap Happy.”
Must have lunch on the patio at the restaurant Shadowbrook.” A charming, multi-level restaurant perched on the river bank, accessible by funicular or stairs, with water features and gorgeous plants.

We, and my sisters and cousin, are very familiar with Capitola and have stayed in other hotels/rentals. We love the town. I did feel that the description of the room was misleading; it indicated that our room would be oceanview, but one of us had stayed in the same room before and told us that it actually faced the street. That should be clarified. It turned out to be fine anyway, but others might have been quite unhappy with the location. I forgot to mention that the only negative to the room was an odd smell when we entered - possibly mold, or maybe an unusual cleaning product? It was better after a few minutes and we would still stay there again.
The staff were the absolute nicest out of any Hotel I’ve ever stayed in. They accommodated my surf boards, came out and secured parking with me, and my dogs were as welcomed as I was. This was also the first time staying in the area that I was not greeted with a surprise breed restriction or judgement towards my dogs. I will exclusively stay with this hotel from now on. Best of the best!
The hotel itself is lovely, the rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfast is great and having a parking lot that isn't all open really brings peace of mind. Most of the staff was really kind and helpful when we needed anything. Andre, Julian, the cheerful lady and - I believe - the manager at the front desk, the ladies at the breakfast area.. Thank you!
This is very special B&B hotel located in an amazing place. The rooms are kept in old fashionable style so you can imagine this place long time ago already welcoming guests. It is a nice 15 minutes walk to the center of Capitola. We got good recommendation for the whale seeing trip ans it was juts amazing to see these animals!
The hotel looks very nice from the outside. The rooms are spacious enough, with a small fridge and microwave. The pool is smallish, but large enough. It’s a 15 minute drive into the centre of Santa Cruz. Restaurants and supermarkets are a 5 minute drive.
The breakfast was simple, but you could make your own waffles.
Super convenient location, close to shopping, grocery stores, restaurants and a 12 minute walk down to Capitola Beach. We booked a 2 bedroom suite and it was VERY spacious, had a fireplace, comfortable beds and 2 bathrooms/vanities.
This is a beautiful Inn with sweet and thoughtful staff. My sister in law and I visited when passing through Capitola for a night. The place is lovely inside and out. It’s a quick walk to the village and beach as well.
We stayed here twice in one trip as it was probably the most comfortable hotel of the road trip. Rooms were really big and comfortable, the staff were excellent and the breakfast set us up for the day. It felt like home.
The location was so amazing just 150 from the beach. The property and rooms are adorable but could use some updating, but overall it was an excellent hotel and we enjoyed our stay very much!!! The place exudes chatm!
Great location, nice neighborhood, lovely garden with beautiful views of the ocean and 10 minutes walk from Capitola seaside and restaurants. Very good bed and nice breakfast provided by friendly staff.
