There are plenty of ways to celebrate Independence Day in Santa Cruz County.

4th of July events in Santa Cruz County include family friendly old-fashioned celebrations at Wilder Ranch and Roaring Camp, the county’s only official fireworks show in Scotts Valley, and parades spanning from Watsonville to San Lorenzo Valley.

West Cliff Sunset

We can’t predict the future, but we can read the weather report, and at the time of this writing it looks like we’re in for some much needed sun this weekend.

Look…sun!

forecast

Just in time to get out and enjoy all the weekend events coming our way. We’re planning on soaking up some sun at Saturday’s Migration Festival at Natural Bridges.

Warriors fans can enjoy two home games, though one of the “home” games is in Oakland.

The weekend also brings live performances, a look at paranormal phenomenon in Santa Cruz, a local rock cover band on the beach, and Pie for the People – sounds yummy, right?

Football fans will be focused on the Superbowl, but if you’re reading this then you know there’s much more to enjoy this weekend.

Looks like we’ll be due for more rain, but that won’t put a damper on the Warriors Friday night game or the full slate of First Friday events throughout the county. This weekend also offers inspiring live performances, an out-of-rink experience with the Derby Girls…and some half-naked comedians.
