Leslie Chavez moved to Santa Cruz to study literature at UCSC some years ago and loved it so much she decided to stay! She now works in travel and tourism and enjoys writing about the things that make Santa Cruz so great! If you’re looking for more of an educational event, there’s a Shakespeare production in Boulder Creek, a special nature exhibit put on by kids at the Santa Cruz Natural History Museum, and a green-themed bike party that advocates for climate change.

Also Santa Cruz’s only Escape Room opens this weekend, so get your best problem solving group together for the fun!

This Weekend in Santa Cruz: February 17th – 19th, 2017

Love and music are in the air this weekend and we’re planning on celebrating with some chocolate and wine tasting at Storrs Winery followed by a trip to the Santa Cruz Music Festival to check out some of the many bands playing around town all weekend long.

In other music related events, theres a quirky 90’s themed  musical happening at the Center Street Theater and a musical showdown of British rock band greats, the Beatles and the Stones. A tribute show like no other.

The weekend also brings lightning talks on the future of Santa Cruz at the MAH, a coastal cleanup event, and a workshop on native food cultivation and preparation.
