What kid wouldn’t want to spend the night at the Boardwalk?
The 2nd annual Boardwalk Family Fun Overnight at the Cocoanut Grove gives kids, and their parents, a chance to live out this fantasy. The event starts on Friday, March 28th and continues into Saturday, the 29th.
The event includes dinner, free-play in the arcade, and an evening full of fun events before everyone settles into their sleeping bags inside the Cocoanut Grove. After waking up to the sound of the waves you and your munchkins will enjoy a continental breakfast, crafts, games, a sandcastle contest and finally, a full day of boardwalk fun.
What to Expect
Be sure to check out the Boardwalk’s site (and their handy Planning Guide) for a full schedule of events. Here are a few of the fun things you can expect:
- Bounce House in Cocoanut Grove
- Two and a half hours of Free play in the Casino Arcade (Includes Laser Tag, excludes redemption games)
- Evening movie and morning cartoons
- Family Sand Castle Competition & Beach Games
- All-Day Rides Wristband
- Event T-Shirt
- Dinner and continental breakfast
Check-in begins at 5:00 pm on Friday evening in the Cocoanut Grove, and the fun starts immediately. From 5:00 – 7:30 the arcade is open for free play (including laser tag). You’ll want to peel yourself away from the fun long enough to grab some dinner before the evening program with Capt’n Jack Spareribs. The night ends with a movie, The Sandlot, which you’ll watch from the comforts of your sleeping bag.
Saturday morning starts with some crafts while cartoons play on the movie screen. After a continental breakfast it’s time to hit the beach for some beach games, followed by the sand castle competition. Awards for the top sand castles are announced at 10:45. The Boardwalk opens at 11:00, and you’ll be able to enjoy rides all day long with your All-Day Rides Wristband.
All children must be accompanied by at least one adult. Registration closes on Friday, March 14th.
