“What is Bitcoin?” Talk and Dinner
When: Fri, 3/21
Join Danny Thorpe, illustrious computer programmer known for his role as Chief Architect of the Delphi language, for dinner and a discussion about all things Bitcoin at The Quail & Thistle Tea Room.

ZOFO Four Hands Piano Duet Concert
When: Fri, 3/21
ZOFO, shorthand for 20-finger orchestra is Eva Maria Zimmermann and Keisuke Nakagoshi Zofo. They bring their innovative 4-hand piano duets to Cabrillo College’s Samper Recital Hall. Show starts at 8 pm. Tickets are $30 (less for seniors, students and music students); you can buy them here.
Third Friday at MAH: Poetry and Book Arts Extravaganza
When: Fri, 3/21
The Museum of Art & History and Book Arts Santa Cruz collaborate to create an evening of activities celebrating and spreading the book arts. In hands-on workshops, you’ll be able to learn about papermaking, bookbinding, the art of lettering, paper marbling and more.
Entry is $5 / $3 for seniors & students / free to MAH members & kids under 4, and the event runs from 5 to 8 pm. There’s a Kids’ Happy Hour from 4 to 5 pm. Get more info here.
Grand Reopening of Homeless Garden Project store on Pacific
When: Fri, 3/21
The Homeless Garden Project is celebrating the reopening of their retail store on Pacific Ave. with a free party open to all from 5:30 to 8 pm, including live music from Nick Gallant, drinks and hors d’oeuvres made with produce from their own organic garden.
“Quartet” Art Show Opening
When: Fri, 3/21
Opening of a new show titled “Quartet” at R. Blitzer Gallery, featuring works by Stefani Esta, Sam Farr, Kenneth Parker, and Tracy Valleau, from 5 to 7 pm.
Sheep to Shawl Fair
When: Sat, 3/22
Live Earth Farm in Watsonville holds a day of sharing how wool gets made into clothing and art, from shearing, to dyeing, spinning, and knitting/crocheting/weaving. There will be demonstrations with hands-on participation, and fiber artists will be selling their wares. There will be food vendors as well. The Fair runs from 10 am to 2 pm, and costs $20 per car ($15 per car in advance). You can buy advance tickets here.
Santa Cruz Derby Girls
When: Sat, 3/22
The Santa Cruz Derby Girls’ home opener is a double header: get 2 bouts for the price of 1! At 5 pm, it’s the Harbor Hellcats vs Folsom Prison Bruisers and at 7 pm, the Boardwalk Bombshells take on the Treasure Valley Rollergirls, at the Kaiser Permanente Arena. Get tickets here.

Bonsai Kai 26th Annual Show
When: Sat, 3/22 and Sun 3/23
The Santa Cruz Bonsai Kai is a club committed to promoting and teaching the bonsai arts. From 10 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday at the Museum of Art and History, they’ll be showing different specimens, raffling off and selling bonsai and equipment, and holding a bonsai creation demonstration.

The Queer Queens of Qomedy @ Kuumbwa

Persian Now Rooz dinner at India Joze
