As we get into Summer there are almost too many fun events to choose from! The Redwood Mountain Faire, Santa Cruz Pride, The Bonny Doon Art, Wine & Brew Festival, Ebb & Flow Kinetic Parade & River Arts Celebration and an interactive art market to name a few.

A Night at the Theater

Where: Green Hills Event Center

Enjoy food, drink, entertainment and a live auction whose proceeds go to the building of the Scotts Valley Community Center! A Night at the Theater is a spectacular fundraising event that supports the enrichment and development of the performing arts in Scotts Valley, aaannd you get a preview of the talented local performers that will be using the new arts center when it opens. It’s a great cause sure to get you excited about the arts and entertainment coming to your local community.
Pour Taproom 1st Anniversary Party

Celebrate the one year anniversary of Pour with free giveaways, special reserve kegs, and a 1st Anniversary Collaboration Beer with Corralitos Brewing Company. The party goes on all weekend in the taproom where you can choose from, and serve yourself, a variety of beer, cider and wine. Grab some duck tacos or a bavarian pretzel to pair and cozy up in one of the community style tables for an afternoon of beer, conversation and festivity.

It’s that time again! With exhibits and events all over town there is something for every type of art enthusiast, see dance performers, prints, paintings and more. At Santa Cruz MAH’s Abbott Square get a special preview of the highly anticipated community plaza and marketplace, and experience the kick-off to the Ebb & Flow River Arts Celebration.
All Hands on Deck

Come see how these amazing community artists have transformed skateboard decks into colorful works of art to be auctioned off at this unique event supporting the Arts Council Santa Cruz County. Ebb & Flow Kinetic Parade & River Arts Celebration
When: 6/3 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm
Where: Santa Cruz Riverwalk and Tannery Arts Center (1070 River Street, Santa Cruz, CA)

This is a parade like no other! Join the river themed procession at the Kaiser Arena and make your way down the Santa Cruz Riverwalk where you’ll see 13 new temporary art installations. Bring your own “moving art” costume to fit in with the crowd. The parade ends at the Tannery for a celebration of art, theater, music, food, and crafts for kids from 1 to 6pm. There will also be an unveiling of the new permanent art installation, “We’re All Downstream,” featuring the work of Tannery artists and youth.
Redwood Mountain Faire
When: 6/3 – 6/4 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
Where: Roaring Camp
Cost: $20 – $45, $5 Parking
This is one of the best family-friendly music festivals in Santa Cruz County, and it’s been going on since the early 1980s! It all started as a community driven event that features local talent and gives back to charities, and it’s been successful ever since. Start your summer off right with a weekend full of live music, from acts like The Coffis Brothers and The Mountain Men, refreshments from local breweries and wineries, and delicious food, all while surrounded by the beautiful redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains. There will also be activities for children and handmade arts and crafts for sale.
The Bonny Doon Art, Wine & Brew Festival
When: 6/3 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Where: Bonny Doon Equestrian Park

The Bonny Doon Art, Wine & Brew Festival features, you guessed it, wine and craft beer tasting from favorites such as the Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery, Bonny Doon Vineyard and more! But it gets better, proceeds go to support the art and science programs at Bonny Doon Elementary School. To add to the fun, there will also be a live and online art auction and delicious food trucks, live music all afternoon, and a chance to pick up some goodies from local art and artisan vendors.
Community Rental: Show & Tell- Interactive Art Market

Ever wondered how your favorite products are made? Well now is your chance to learn at the Show & Tell interactive marketplace. Creative members of our community will be giving informative talks and live demonstrations of the intricate process involved in making something by hand. Love, Lust & Rock ‘n Roll

The Santa Cruz Symphony teams up with Storm Large, the lead singer of Pink Martini, for an entertaining evening of covers from all over the musical map including Queen, Pink Martini, Elton John and Frank Sinatra. Listen for your favorite hits including I’ve Got You Under My Skin and Yellow Brick Road. Storm is a must see musician, she’s performed nationally and internationally with renowned artists and has performed for four sold out shows with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
Hope Dances – Movie Premiere

Where: Rio Theatre

Hope has a dream to become a ballerina against all odds and this film is the journey of her trials and tribulations to achieve that dream. Catch the inspiring story at the Rio Theatre if you can, they will be releasing just 200 tickets to the general public who are interested, so make sure you get yours. Produced by Bright River Productions, a local production company, this film features Santa Cruz dancers, actors and athletes.

Beginning Birding

If you’ve never been to Quail Hollow Ranch before, this is your chance to explore it’s natural beauty! Hidden in the Santa Cruz Mountains and home to fifteen different habitats, endangered species and plants, and with miles of trails, this is the perfect place to experience a different side of Santa Cruz and get started on that birding hobby. Join the leader of the Santa Cruz Bird Club for a hike through the park in search of local birds. No birding experience is necessary.
Pride Parade and Festival 2017
When: 6/4 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
Where: Pacific (Elm to Church) Festival
Cost: Free
Celebrate Santa Cruz Pride with a parade that begins at 11:00 am at the intersection of Pacific and Church. The crowd will march down Pacific Ave towards the ocean ending at the Pride Festival grounds where the Wednesday farmers market usually is. The party goes all afternoon and will include food trucks, vendors, live music, and activities for kids. Santa Cruz Pride celebrates the LGBTQ community in Santa Cruz County and there will be musicians, spoken word artists and other performers representing the LGBTQ community. This is a family-friendly event and all ages are welcome.
