Santa Cruz Sea Glass & Ocean Art Festival

Saturday & Sunday Nov 4th-5th, 10am-5pm each day.
Shop for unique gifts or bring home an ocean art treasure. Over 45 artists will bring you their handcrafted sea glass and ocean artwork at this 9th annual festival. Entry fee includes entrance into gift basket drawings. Food and drinks available for purchase.
Hot Rods at the Beach
When: 11/4 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Where: Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

Hot Rods at the Beach celebrates it’s 20th year as the Boardwalk’s front parking lot becomes a showplace. Hundreds of custom, classic, vintage, muscle cars and more. All proceeds benefit The Santa Cruz Police Officers Association. Cars can still be registered to enter on the morning of the event.
3rd Annual Holiday Craft Fair
When: 11/4 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Where: Aptos Grange

The holidays are coming fast! Here’s a way to get a head start on some shopping while supporting local crafters and artists. Proceeds go back into the community, as well as a raffle to support families affected by fire in Northern California.
Mini Toy Theater Festival
When: 11/4 from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Where: lille æske – Boulder Creek
Cost: $10-$20 Sliding Scale
Traditional style paper theater has made a comeback in this modern and adult-themed fun performance by Little Blue Moon Theatre. There will also be performances by participants of the Animal Cracker Conspiracy toy theater workshops.
Día de los Muertos Community Festival
When: 11/4 from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm
Where: The MAH
Cost: Free
Update: This event may be postponed due to rain and rescheduled for November 12. Up-to-date info will be available on the MAH’s Facebook and Instagram. A day of celebration for the entire family as the dead are honored at this vibrant and fun festival. Enjoy traditional dance, music, food, as well as activities such as face painting, tissue roses and luminaries. Join in the procession to the Santa Cruz Mission and Evergreen Cemetery.
Fall Book Sale at the Santa Cruz Civic
When: 11/4 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (Members only 11/3 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm)

Friends of Santa Cruz Pubic Libraries hosts their largest book sale of the year. A wide selection of donated books of many genres, audio books and CDs in top condition. There’s also a collection of vintage books available for purchase. All proceeds help our public libraries!
The Cat that Changed America
When: 11/4 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Where: Rio Theatre
Cost: $10 Child, $15 Gen, $25 Gold Circle
This is the true story of P22, the mountain lion who moved from the Santa Monica Mountains to a large urban park in Los Angeles. This film addresses the difficulties wildlife face in urban areas and the possible solutions. Proceeds will benefit Native Animal Rescue and the screening will be followed by a guest appearance by two of the wildlife experts interviewed in the film.
Capitola Plein Air
When: 11/4 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and 11/5 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
Where: Various Locations
Cost: Free
Grab a map Saturday and set out to discover up to 40 professional artists working away all around Capitola, brush to canvas, capturing the character and the beauty of the city. Sunday, head over to New Brighton Middle School Performing Arts Center to see all the art from the day before for sale and under one roof. Artwork will be judged and sales will benefit art education. Sunday’s location will have live music and hands-on activities for everyone.
