Another summer weekend in Santa Cruz, and as usual, there’s no shortage of events to take part in.
It’s too late to enter the Wharf to Wharf Race, but that doesn’t mean you can’t head down to the race to watch. Speaking of watching, Derby fans are going to be watching, and cheering, this Sunday as the Santa Cruz Derby Girls play a matinee double header at the Kaiser Permanente Arena.

Berlin, Featuring Terri Nunn
When: Friday, 7/26
Berlin, of “Take My Breath Away” fame, comes to the Boardwalk this weekend to make children of the 80’s feel old and nostalgic.

Day Out with Thomas

Roaring Camp Railroads puts on this family event Friday through Sunday. Bring the whole family out for a fun day in the redwoods to ride the iconic Thomas and Friends train.
Wharf to Wharf Race
When: Sunday, 7/28
The 41st annual Wharf to Wharf Race takes place this Sunday. The race starts at the Santa Cruz municipal wharf and ends at the Capitola wharf. Get more info at the official W2W site.
Santa Cruz Derby Girls
When: Sunday, 7/28
Derby bouts are usually a Saturday night affair, but this weekend you can come watch the Derby Girls in a Sunday matinee double header. Get tickets here.
