Friday
Alasdair Fraser’s 36th Annual Fiddle Extravaganza
When: 8/30 at 8:00 pm
Where: Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium
Cost: $21.50 – $27.50; Children 8 and under Free
Valley of the Moon Fiddle School presents an extravaganza of fiddles, fiddles and more fiddles! Indie-Award winner, Alasdair Fraser and over 200 musicians and performing artists will be filling the auditorium with music, song and dance for an evening of celebration of the classic instrument.
Papa Doo Run Run
When: 8/30 at 6:30 pm & 8:30 pm
Where: Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
Cost: Free
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk FREE Bands on the Beach concert series comes to a season end with a performance from this favorite local band featuring their rendition of hits from the Beach Boys and other classic and surf rock tunes. Come out for a summer celebration that will keep you singing and dancing long after summer is over!
Movies at the Beach
When: 8/30 at 7:30 pm or dusk
Where: Esplanade Park
Cost: Free
Did someone say FREE movies at the beach? Well what are you waiting for? Gather the kids and head out to Esplanade Park for a free family movie night. This week’s movie is family favorite “Despicable Me”. Bring a picnic dinner, chairs, blankets and don’t forget your jacket. Movie begins at dusk.
THE BIG EASTSIDE BLOCK PARTY
When: 8/30 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Where: Pono Hawaiian Kitchen & Tap Parking Lot
Cost: $3 at the door
It’s a party on the Eastside and you’re invited! Bring everyone you know for an evening of music, food, drinks, vendors and even baby goats! Who can resist baby goats? Vendors include local food trucks, craft breweries, shave ice, art, local recreation and so much more for the entire family. RSVP is required.
