Beer Maker’s Dinner

Where: Pino Alto Restaurant at Cabrillo College

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a week early with a Beer Maker’s Dinner. This collaboration between Discretion Brewing and Pino Alto Restaurant is a chance for Advance Culinary Arts students at Cabrillo College to show off their pairing skills throughout a 5-course meal. Enjoy local beer and a British Isles themed menu.
Mountain Community Theater Presents: “The Lion in Winter”
When: 3/10 – 4/2 – check website for times
Where: Park Hall in Ben Lomond
Cost: $20 General Admission / $17 Students and Seniors
Mountain Community Theater takes us to 12th century France during the reign of Henry II. Enjoy a local theater production of the Academy Award-winning film adaptation by James Goldman. Opening night features a champagne reception post-show, and next weekend you can take advantage of Community Night ticket prices or stay for a Q&A with cast and director post-show.
Santa Cruz Warriors vs. Fort Wayne Mad Ants
When: 3/10 at 7:00 pm
Where: Kaiser Permanente Arena
Cost: $23 – $77
Cheer on the Santa Cruz Warriors as they take on the Mad Ants of Fort Wayne. The Warriors will be wearing custom community jerseys and the first 1,500 fans will receive a matching rally towel. Jersey auction proceeds will benefit Ride A Wave.
Night Market
When: 3/10 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Where: Food Lounge
Cost: Free admission
The second Friday of the month brings Night Market to the Santa Cruz Food Lounge. Enjoy an exciting dining experience featuring a variety of food vendors, craft cocktails, and live music. Past pop-up vendors include My Mom’s Mole, Artisan Hand Food, and La Sofrita…wonder who will pop up this Friday?
Brookdale Bluegrass 2017 Spring Festival
When: 3/10 at 11:00 am to 3/12 at 11:00 pm
Where: Mount Cross
Cost: $25 – $80
Calling all bluegrass fans: Peter Rowan headlines this 3-day festival Felton which includes workshops and a children’s concert. Other featured acts include Faux Renwah, Snap Jackson and his Knock on Wood Players, the Naked Bootleggers, and Coffee Zombie Collective. Overnight campsites and cabins are available at this venue.

The Closet Shopper Eastside Grand Opening

Having recently attended the 6-year anniversary for the Closet Shopper in Downtown Santa cruz, we are thrilled for the grand opening of their second location across town! Coffeeville’s White Russians make a return appearance (yum!), a photo booth, and live music add to the festivities. Help welcome them to the neighborhood and shop recycled fashion for women—boutique style!

Girls Rock! Women’s Mountain Bike Ride and Event.

Don’t worry about your mountain biking skills—all levels are welcome and will break into groups and ride nearby trails based on ride level. Don’t have a mountain bike? There are a limited quantity of demo bikes available to reserve for a fee if you’re new to the sport. Sponsors will provide breakfast, swag, and post-ride beer, cider and snacks. Sounds pretty awesome!
Santa Cruz Derby Girls

It’s the battle of the bay! The Santa Cruz Derby Girls return to the Civic Auditorium to face the Berkeley Resistance of Bay Area Derby. Come cheer on the Boardwalk Bombshells at this opening season match!
Pussy Riot Theatre Presents Revolution

Pussy Riot, the controversial Russian punk rock protest group, comes to the Rio to perform the world premiere of “Revolution.” The show is based on founding member Maria Alyokhina’s personal story as a member of Pussy Riot, including tales of their legendary protests, and the dramatic aftermath. Stick around after the performance for a conversation with members of the creative team.
