Virtual Events in Santa Cruz

Hey Santa Cruz! A lot has changed and continues to change in a short amount of time. Our usual weekend roundup is now a weekly roundup of virtual events, many ongoing, that you can tune into from the comfort of your own living room.

We’ve gathered something for everyone during the Shelter in Place ordinance and beyond. These online workouts, art classes, dance parties, workshops, concerts, and educational talks are hosted by local small businesses, artists, trainers, and more.

Please submit virtual events and ideas below so we can continue to share ways to socialize and support each other while social distancing. Take care, Santa Cruz!

Noon in the Park

When: 4/1 – 4/3 at 12:00 pm

Explore a different park each day and enjoy story time, yoga, and music with special guests, like Kate and Aaron from Live Like Coco. Don’t worry if you missed the livestream. Recorded versions are available on Facebook.

Virtual WU TANG YOGA

And now for something different and totally badass, yoga to hip hop music with readings from the Tao of Wu. This class is free but donations are greatly appreciated. Be sure to check out other virtual offerings from Estrella Collective including Buti Yoga, Bellydance, and Twerk.

Otterly Amazing

You otter tune in to learn all about the southern sea otter, both adorable and vital to the marine environment. This program is geared towards students in grandes 3-5 but all are welcome. These virtual tours will make hiking and exploring our state parks a more meaningful experience.  If you can’t attend live, you can always watch the recorded version.

This program is aimed at 5th-8th graders and their families, but everyone can enjoy. Alas, our favorite Friday to get out and explore art is best enjoyed from your couch. One positive is, from the comfort of home, you actually can view and visit all of the participating artists and galleries online. The Great 2020 Couch to Virtual Run Challenge

Get your whole family up and moving with the first ever Couch-To-Virtual-Run Challenge! This Weekend in Santa Cruz: February 21st – 23rd, 2020

Family friendly happenings this weekend include a free screening of Mary Poppins Returns, a library grand opening, and storytelling around a campfire.

Enjoy the local arts and craft scene at the Community Art Market and 42nd Annual Quilt Show.

For outdoor enthusiasts, there’s a surf competition at the Lane and the BANFF Centre Mountain Film Festival.

And don’t forget to fuel up on clam chowder at the Boardwalk!
