The holiday season is here.
Just in case there was any question, this weekend’s lineup of events is almost all holiday themed. In fact, the next two weekends are very heavy on the holiday events. Here are the top picks for this weekend:
Holiday Event in Boulder Creek
The first big holiday bash in the County happens in Boulder Creek. We’ve written about this one already, so click here for more info.

Holiday Lights Train
Roaring Camp’s annual Holiday Lights Train is a Santa Cruz favorite during the holiday season. Sip hot chocolate, visit with Santa, and ride a train decorated in holiday lights.

Downtown Sidewalk Sales
Downtown Santa Cruz will be all abuzz with the official birth of the holiday shopping season. Businesses throughout downtown will be hosting sidewalk sales so come on down and get your holiday shopping started.

Surfin’ Santa
Surfin’ Santa will paddle in to the Capitola Beach at noon on Saturday. Santa rides in (with his reindeer) on an outrigger before greeting and visiting with all the kids. Don’t forget, you can also track Santa through Santa Cruz this holiday season.

Felton Tree Lighting
Downtown Felton transforms into a winter wonderland with the Felton Tree Lighting this Saturday. You’ll get all the holiday festivities you’re craving, including a visit from Santa Claus.

Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday is a shopping holiday created by American Express to support local businesses amid the madness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It’s also a great excuse to shop local and support you favorite Santa Cruz shops when doing your holiday shopping.

Nutcracker
The Nutcracker will be performed at Cabrillo’s Crocker Theatre this Saturday and Sunday. You can get more information, and tickets, here.

Mountain Art Center Open House & Holiday Sale
The Mountain Art Center in Ben Lomand will be hosting an Open House and Holiday Sale on Saturday, from noon to 6:00pm. Get more information here.
