7th Annual Veterans Day Dinner
When: 11/11 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Where: Scopazzi’s Restaurant & Lounge
Cost: $45 General, $35 Veterans and Active Military Duty Personnel, $50 at the door.
Celebrate and honor our veterans in this special event hosted by the San Lorenzo Valley Museum and historic Scopazzi’s restaurant in Boulder Creek. Veterans are encouraged to wear their uniform and/or medals and bring military memorabilia to share. It will be an evening of delicious food, music, sharing stories and memories, and paying tribute.
Community Rental: Holistic Veterans’ Community Healing Project

Holistic Veterans strives to “heal veterans of all countries and all wars.” This event brings the Santa Cruz community together to discuss, participate and learn about different natural treatments and holistic modalities. Come open minded for an enlightening opportunity to learn new ways to create a healthier lifestyle for you and your loved ones.
Food Truck Friday Tribute to Local Veterans

Their mission is to use the power of film to educate and inspire audiences to create a better world. They visit Santa Cruz this Saturday presenting ten short films about nature, adventure, courage, determination, overcoming fear and so much more. Behold the story of a 90-year-old ice skater, find out what it takes to be a surfer in Iceland, and experience the struggle of the first Bangladeshi woman to scale the Seven Summits. It’s sure to be a wild cinematic ride.
Santa Cruz Warriors vs. Los Angeles D-Fenders

It’s that time of year again… basketball season! This Saturday is opening night for our Santa Cruz Warriors. These games are affordable, fun and family-friendly. The Kaiser Arena is relatively small so every seat is a good seat to witness the slam dunks, fouls, passes and entertaining performances and contests at the halftime break. Grab some Prosecco and popcorn and settle court side for an evening of sports and entertainment.
Cross Pollination: The Art and Science of Santa Cruz Insects

The UCSC Museum of Natural History Collections will be presenting an open house at the UCSC Cowell Hay Barn, at the base of campus. This educational and engaging, kid-friendly event includes an insect-education scavenger hunt for kids and adults, as well as specimen of birds, fungi, plants, mammals. The artwork of Maryjo Koch and the Randall Morgan Plant-Pollinator Collection will also be on display. Bring friends and family to this free and unique event to learn about our fascinating, local natural history.
Goat Hill Fair

After attending Goat Hill last year, all we can say is wow! Jeff Sanford’s high energy jazz septet has won fans around the Bay Area for its catchy music from famous cartoons such as Looney Toons, and renditions of classics by Raymond Scott, Jelly Roll Morton and Duke Ellington. The music will be accompanied by comedy and magic by Robert Strong and silent films presented by film historian Paul Etcheverry. A performance that literally has something for everyone, fun for kids and appreciated by adults.
Downtown Santa Cruz WINE WALK

Where: Downtown Santa Cruz

Take a stroll through Downtown Santa Cruz while sipping a variety of delicious, local wine along the way for this special fall event. Get your pass, a glass, and a map to the all of the pouring locations and set out on your tasting adventure. Spend the afternoon tasting the best wines from the Santa Cruz Mountains and around the Central Coast as you meander through the shops and restaurants downtown. There will be a lot of great wine to choose from so pace yourself and enjoy!
Santa Cruz Book Fair for Kids and Teens

Got any young book lovers? If so, then this is the perfect event for them. In association with the Santa Cruz Public Library is the first annual Santa Cruz book fair specifically for kids and teens. Books for sale include young adult and middle grade, as well as picture books for the younger ones. There will also be author readings from eight local authors throughout the day, free refreshments, a raffle, and an opportunity to learn more about the young writers program.
